In designing our service plan, we decided to become fully independent but still operate the similar underwriting model as required by the insurance industry.


As a service provider 24|7 Home Rescue operates as a non-insurance registered entity. This is a very important attribute in keeping our operating costs to a minimum and it also means we keep can keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.


Traditional warranty companies usually operate on an insured basis and are either owned or contracted to an insurance company.


An important aspect of a 24|7 Home Rescue plan is that we insist on controlling the business, and to this end we, both contractually and legally, operate on a completely discretionary basis.


We believe that this provides us with more power than we would otherwise have when operating under the strict controls of insurance underwriters. We use this discretion to ensure that you, as our customer, receive a fair and equitable resolution to each and every request you make.


Insurance policies are typically designed with deliberate ambiguity, in order to give underwriters the power to dispute or disallow claims and repairs. This allows insurers to reduce their pay-outs and control their cost base.


We believe we use our discretion wisely, so we can best meet the interests of our customers and provide them with a much fairer service. By doing so, we can protect ourselves against fraud and extend our service so we can deal with any given situation.

Your new boiler will be covered by warranty too – so if it breaks, the manufacturer will repair it with no extra charge.

What is a system boiler?

What is a standard boiler?
Also known as conventional boiler, the standard boiler stores hot water in a storage cylinder, similar to system boilers, but the difference is that a standard boiler is fed by a separate coldwater tank – commonly found in the loft. There’s another separate tank, called a ‘feed and expansion cistern’, usually in the loft too. Standard boilers are the largest type of boiler and so are not generally suitable for smaller living spaces.

What is an ERP boiler?

The ‘ERP’ – Energy related products label will tell you how efficiently your boiler (or any other appliance like a fridge or a washing machine) uses energy. It’s designed to help you choose the right appliance and is designed to ensure you save the most money on your heating and energy bills. The ERP label will rate an appliance from A+++ to G.

A+++ is the most efficient boiler you can get.

It also tells you how loud the appliance is in decibels and how much heat it outputs in kilowatts.

All of the boilers available to you on the 24|7 Staywarm packages are rated A for efficiency.

Can you install if I live above the second floor?
In most cases, this is highly tricky. There is usually a huge cost associated with hiring specialist equipment that lets our engineers reach the outside of your home above the second floor and we don’t want to have to pass that cost on to you. If you live above the second floor, please contact our customer service team and we’ll discuss any viable options with you.

What is a flue?

A flue is a pipe, almost like a chimney, that carries waste from the boiler to the outside. You can see your flue exit (the part of the flue that comes out of your house) on the outside wall or roof of your home.

Flues can either be round or square depending on the home that you live in.

If the flue is less than two metres off the ground, or if it’s underneath a car park or shelter, it’ll be covered by a guard. It will include a piece of wire mesh that surrounds the flue.

When you buy a boiler from 24|7 Staywarm, we’ll supply and fit a brand new flue for you, along with all the safety attachments you need, so you don’t need to worry about any part of your central heating system.

When is my installation date booked?

Your installation will be booked as soon as you’ve signed your order contract or paid the whole balance in full. You’ll then be given a list of available dates to perform the installation that are suitable for you.

If you haven’t completed the payment or paid the deposit required within 24 hours after choosing your installation date, the slots may become available to other customers so it’s crucial you do this as soon as possible

If you’ve chosen next-day installation:

Finish your payment option or sign your finance agreement before 3.30pm to guarantee your next day installation slot.

Will you do a chemical flush?

Of course! Before we install any new boiler or central heating system, we always do a chemical flush, which is essentially a hot flush and dose.

One of our highly skilled engineers will put a cleaner into your system, flushing it out through the boiler. Any debris will be caught by the approved 24|7 Staywarm magnetic filter.

Will you perform a power flush?

Delivery & Installation

Will 24|7 Staywarm take my old boiler?
We will always dispose of any old materials including your old boiler unless you tell us not to. If you don’t want us to remove your old boiler, please let our engineer known on the day of the installation.

What will you do with my old boiler?
We try and recycle as much of your old boiler as we can. We aim to be energy efficient and environmentally friendly in everything that we do.

Can I change my mind before installation?
You’re well within your statutory rights to change your mind before your new installation. Please get in touch with a member of the team and let us know as soon as possible to cancel the installation. Please bear in mind that any payments and refunds are subject to our discretion.

Are all your engineers Gas safe registered?
Yes. All of our engineers are professional, experienced central heating engineers with a Gas Safe certification, so you can rest assured you’re getting the most professional service at a fraction of the cost of other providers.

Will my new boiler installation make a mess in my home?
No. Our engineers always make sure that surfaces are protected and the area they’re working on is always clean and tidy. They always tidy away their working area and do their utmost to avoid any inconvenience to your home.

Do I need to do anything before the engineer arrives?
Before your installer arrives, clear away any clutter around the boiler – especially any valuables and things that could potentially break. Please make sure the boiler is easy to access and the area is free of items that could cause our engineer delays.

After Installation

What exactly does my boiler warranty cover?
With most standard new items, you will be offered a one-year warranty. The 24|7 Staywarm warranty includes everything that has been supplied to you as part of your new installation and includes the boiler, flue and any attachments, unless you have specifically requested any of these items not to be included.

How do I keep my boiler warranty?
Your boiler warranty will only be valid if you have a boiler service regularly. This usually consists of having a boiler service at least once a year. 24|7 Staywarm also offer boiler services to homeowners, tenants and landlords as part of our offering. Please contact our customer service team to find out more.

Do I need to do anything in order to activate my warranty?
No. We’ll register you with the manufacturer as soon as your engineer fits the boiler. Then, you’ll be covered with your warranty from the moment your boiler is up and running.

Is my filter covered by warranty?
Yes – your filter is covered by a warranty backed by the filter manufacturer. The length of the filter warranty will always match or exceed the length of the boiler warranty.

Is my Smart Thermostat covered by warranty?
Yes. If you’re buying a combi boiler from us, you’ll also receive a free Smart Thermostat. This is covered by a warranty backed by the manufacturer.
